What is error budget?
Error budget: The amount of unreliability a service is allowed under its objective, such as 0.1% failed requests for a 99.9% target. While budget remains, teams can release quickly; when it is used up, they slow releases and focus on stability.
Error budget: an example
A 99.9% monthly target allows about 43 minutes of downtime; after 40 minutes are used, feature releases pause.
