What is schema validation?
Schema validation (also called JSON Schema validation): Verifying that data matches a formal description of its allowed structure, including field names, types and constraints. In AI applications it is used on model outputs and tool arguments so that malformed or dangerous values are caught before use.
Schema validation: an example
A tool call with 'quantity' set to -5 fails validation because the schema requires an integer of at least 1.
