What is GRU?
GRU (also called Gated recurrent unit): The gated recurrent unit, a simpler alternative to the LSTM that merges memory and state into one vector and uses just two gates (update and reset). It has fewer parameters and often performs comparably.
GRU: an example
A GRU layer with 128 units has fewer weights than an LSTM layer of the same size.
