What is RNN (recurrent neural network)?
Recurrent neural network (also called RNN): A network that processes a sequence one element at a time while carrying a hidden state forward, so earlier inputs can influence later outputs. It handles variable-length data but struggles with long-range dependencies and cannot be parallelised across time.
Recurrent neural network: an example
Reading a sentence word by word, updating a state vector after each word, is a recurrent computation.
