What is integer overflow?
Integer overflow: An error that occurs when an arithmetic result is too large to fit in the fixed number of bits reserved for an integer, so it wraps around or is cut off. Python integers grow as needed, but many languages and array types do not.
Integer overflow: an example
A NumPy int8 value of 127 plus 1 wraps around to -128.
