What is event loop?
Event loop: A loop that waits for events such as network data arriving or timers expiring and runs the code registered to handle each one. It is the engine behind asynchronous frameworks, letting one thread manage thousands of connections.
Event loop: an example
Python's asyncio runs an event loop that resumes your await-ing functions when their results are ready.
