What is UTC (Coordinated Universal Time)?
Coordinated Universal Time (also called UTC): The global time standard used as the reference for all time zones, not shifted for daylight saving. Storing timestamps in it avoids confusion when systems in different places exchange data.
Coordinated Universal Time: an example
India Standard Time is UTC plus 5 hours 30 minutes, so 12:00 UTC is 17:30 in India.
