What is seasonality?
Seasonality (also called Seasonal component): A pattern that repeats at a fixed, known period such as a day, week or year, caused by calendar or habit effects. Recognising it lets a forecaster separate predictable repeats from real change.
Seasonality: an example
Ice-cream sales peak every summer; food-delivery orders peak around 8 pm every evening.
