What is exploration?
Exploration: Trying choices that are not currently believed to be best, in order to gather information about the world. Without it, a learner can get stuck repeating a mediocre routine because it never discovers something better.
Exploration: an example
A food-delivery app occasionally shows a new restaurant at the top to learn whether customers like it.
