What is contextual chunk enrichment?
Contextual chunk enrichment: Adding context to each chunk before embedding, such as the document title, section heading or a short generated summary of where the chunk sits. It helps chunks that lose meaning when isolated, like a paragraph that says only 'the fee is 2%'.
Contextual chunk enrichment: an example
The chunk 'The fee is 2%' is prefixed with 'HDFC credit card agreement, Foreign transactions:' before embedding.
