What is exponentiation?
Exponentiation: Raising a number to a power using the ** operator, meaning repeated multiplication of the base by itself. It has higher precedence than multiplication and associates right to left. A fractional exponent gives roots.
Exponentiation: an example
2 ** 10 gives 1024, 9 ** 0.5 gives 3.0, and 2 ** 3 ** 2 is evaluated as 2 ** 9, giving 512.
