AI engineering glossary · Prompt context engineering
What is generated knowledge prompting?
Generated knowledge prompting: A two-step technique where the model first writes out relevant facts about the topic, and those facts are then added to the prompt when answering the actual question. It can help commonsense questions, though generated facts may be wrong.
Generated knowledge prompting: an example
For 'Can a penguin fly?', the model first writes 'Penguins are flightless birds', then answers using that statement.
