What is memoryless property?
Memoryless property: A distribution is memoryless when the chance of waiting a further amount of time does not depend on how long you have already waited. Among continuous distributions only the exponential has it, and among discrete ones only the geometric.
Memoryless property: an example
If a bus arrival gap is exponential, having waited 10 minutes gives no clue that it is 'due' sooner.
