What is pandas Index?
pandas Index (also called row labels): The set of labels attached to the rows (or columns) of a Series or DataFrame. It lets you look up data by label rather than position, and pandas uses it to line up data automatically when combining objects. It can hold numbers, text or dates.
pandas Index: an example
A DataFrame of orders indexed by order_id lets you fetch one order with df.loc[10452].
