What is fuzzy matching?
Fuzzy matching (also called Approximate string matching): Finding strings that are close to, but not exactly the same as, a target, using measures such as edit distance or n-gram overlap. It helps match misspelt names, addresses and product titles to their intended records.
Fuzzy matching: an example
"Bengaluru" and "Bangalore" are matched as the same city by a fuzzy score above a chosen threshold.
