What is training set?
Training set: The portion of the data the algorithm is allowed to learn from. The model's parameters are adjusted to fit these examples. Because the model has seen them, performance measured on this portion is optimistic and cannot show how well the model will handle new data.
Training set: an example
From 10,000 labelled emails, 7,000 go into the training set so the spam model can learn from them.

Where you learn it
Training set is part of the AI Engineering Program, which teaches it with notes, a hands-on lab and an exam. The first lesson is free.
