What is ADASYN?
ADASYN: Adaptive Synthetic Sampling, an extension of SMOTE that generates more synthetic samples for minority examples that are harder to learn, meaning those with many majority-class neighbours. It shifts the decision boundary toward difficult regions.
ADASYN: an example
Minority points surrounded by majority points receive many more synthetic neighbours than points deep inside a minority cluster.
