What is TN (true negative)?
True negative (also called TN): A case that does not belong to the class of interest and that the model correctly labels as not belonging. It is a correct negative prediction. Large counts of them inflate plain accuracy on imbalanced data, which is why many metrics ignore them.
True negative: an example
A loan-default model says 'will repay' for a customer who does repay. In the fraud example, 970 genuine transactions correctly passed are true negatives.
