What is ARM (ARM architecture)?
ARM architecture (also called ARM): A family of processor designs and instruction sets known for high energy efficiency, used in almost all smartphones, Apple Silicon Macs and a growing number of cloud servers. It uses a reduced instruction set, so many simple instructions do the work.
ARM architecture: an example
Apple's M-series MacBooks run on ARM, so some x86-only Docker images run slowly through emulation on them.
