What is scope (OAuth)?
Scope (OAuth) (also called OAuth scope): A named permission in an authorisation system that limits what an access token can do, such as read-only calendar access. Requesting the narrowest scope needed follows the principle of least privilege.
Scope (OAuth): an example
An agent asks for scope calendar.readonly and so cannot create or delete events.
