What is JSON-RPC?
JSON-RPC (also called JSON-RPC 2.0): A lightweight remote procedure call protocol that encodes requests and responses as JSON, with a method name, parameters and an id linking each reply to its request. MCP uses it as the message format between clients and servers.
JSON-RPC: an example
A request {"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/list"} asks the server to list its tools.
