AI course for beginners

An AI course that really starts at the beginning

No coding experience needed to start. You begin with how computers, Git and APIs work and what AI actually is, learn Python properly, then the maths that makes machine learning make sense, before building AI systems.

Why beginners get stuck, and how this course avoids it

Most beginners jump straight to "build a chatbot" tutorials, copy code they do not understand, and stall. This course goes in a fixed order, and every module unlocks only after you finish the one before it:

  1. AI & Computing Foundations (Module 1). Git, APIs, environments and the vocabulary of AI. Lesson 1.1, AI vs ML vs DL vs GenAI, is free.
  2. Python for AI (Module 2). Python to a professional standard, ending in a working command-line tool with tests.
  3. Mathematics & Statistics for AI (Module 3). The vectors, derivatives and probability behind machine learning, with a model trained by hand in NumPy.
  4. Data, SQL & Machine Learning in Practice (Module 4). Real data, SQL and classical machine learning, evaluated honestly.

From there the program moves to deep learning, LLM applications, RAG, agents and production, so you never hit a gap.

How each lesson works

Notes with worked examples, short video lessons with quick checks, a lab in your browser with automatic checks, a five-minute practice path, a workbook and a timed exam. Pass the exam and the next lesson opens.

Questions people ask

Still curious? Talk to us.

Do I need to know coding?

No. Module 1 sets up the tools and vocabulary, and Module 2 teaches Python to a professional standard, starting from the first line.

Is the maths hard?

Module 3 teaches only the maths AI needs (vectors, derivatives and probability), with code and worked examples rather than proofs.

How many hours a week do I need?

Most learners plan 6 to 14 hours a week. It is self-paced, so you can study around college or a job.

Can I try it for free?

Yes. Lesson 1.1 is free, with notes, a lab and a quiz, and no card.
