What is MPC (model predictive control)?
Model predictive control (also called MPC): A planning method that, at every step, uses a model to simulate future action sequences over a short horizon, picks the best sequence, executes only its first action, and then replans. It is common in control and in model-based learning.
Model predictive control: an example
A drone plans 20 future thrust settings every 50 ms but applies only the first.
