What is fixed-size chunking?
Fixed-size chunking: Splitting text into pieces of a set length regardless of content. It is simple and predictable, but it can cut sentences or sections in half, so it is often paired with overlap or replaced by methods that respect structure.
Fixed-size chunking: an example
A script slices every document into consecutive 512-token windows with no regard for headings.
