What is answer relevance?
Answer relevance (also called Answer relevancy): A RAG evaluation measure of how directly the generated answer addresses the user's question, regardless of whether it is factually right. Off-topic, evasive or padded answers score low, even when everything they say is supported by the context.
Answer relevance: an example
For 'What is the notice period?', an answer describing the company history scores low.
