What is ground truth?
Ground truth: The verified correct answers against which a model's predictions are compared. It may come from expert annotation, measurements or recorded outcomes. It is not always perfect, so errors in it limit how reliable any evaluation can be.
Ground truth: an example
Doctors' confirmed diagnoses for 2,000 scans serve as the reference against which the model's outputs are checked.
