What is overreliance?
Overreliance: Users or systems trusting model output too much without checking it, treating a fluent answer as authoritative. Designs that show sources, express uncertainty and keep a human reviewer for high-stakes steps help reduce it.
Overreliance: an example
A junior analyst pastes an AI-written tax calculation into a client report without verifying the figures.
