What is intrinsic hallucination?
Intrinsic hallucination: A hallucination that contradicts the source text the model was given, such as a summary that reverses a fact stated in the document. Because the correct information is available in the input, it can be detected by comparing output with source.
Intrinsic hallucination: an example
The article says a company's revenue fell 8 percent, but the model's summary says it rose 8 percent.
